HERMAN HACKMAN, farmer, Sec. 18; P. O. Havana; was born in Hanover, Germany, Aug. 8, 1834; came to America in the fall of 1855, by way of New Orleans, and stopped at Quiney, III., until the following June, when he came to Havana Township, Mason Co., where he has since followed farming. He now owns 240 acres of land. He was married, April 3, 1866, to Miss Hannah Wissmaun, who was bom in Hanover, Germany, Aug. 9, 1847; they have three children:  Lizzie, Wene and Clara. His father, Ruldolph Hackman, came to America the same year (1855); both parents were natives of Hanover, Germany. His mother's maiden name was Mary Hollenback.
